YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's three-day Jala Deeksha that has commenced on Monday witnessed thousands of farmers coming in support of the protest against TDP government's alleged failure in preserving Krishna waters and Telangana government for planning irrigation projects over Godavari river.

Addressing the public on the occasion, YS Jagan requested Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao not to hog all the water in the Krishna and Godavari rivers for his State causing damage to the Andhras.

Faulting KCR for taking away the water from the Krishna river by constructing the Palamuru and Dindi and Rangareddy projects, Jagan mentioned that no new projects other than the permitted ones should be constructed under the AP Reorganisation Act.

Only Kalwakurthy and Nettempadu are the only permitted projects in Telangana on the Krishna River, stated the YSRCP leader who questioned KCR whether Telangana has proprietary rights over the water if it first flows into the state.

Stating that the entire delta in Andhra would turn a desert if the water level is not maintained at 854 ft at Srisailam, further affecting the four districts of Rayalaseema, Nellore, Prakasam, Krishna, and Guntur, Jagan pointed out that the understanding between KCR and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on the 299 tmc Krishna Water to Telangana was applicable for only a year.

He even said that Telangana was trying to take in 70,000 cusecs of water by building Kaleshwaram, Devadula, Tupakulaguda, Sitarama and Bhakta Ramdas projects forcing the Godavari river to run dry resulting in 0 cusecs water at the Dowlaishwaram barrage in May 2016.

Alleging that KCR did a lot of drama to take away Hyderabad, thus depriving AP of a capital along with jobs, Jagan said that the Telangana Chief Minister was out to deprive the state of water also and questioned the silence of Chandrababu in regard to the threats being posed by Telangana. The YSRCP Chief further described in detail of how KCR and Chandrababu were indifferent to the woes of people regarding water in nearly six districts in AP and at least two in Telangana.
