While YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday kick-started the three-day Jala Deeksha in Kurnool as a protest against TDP government's alleged failure in preserving Krishna waters and Telangana government for planning irrigation projects over Godavari river, many TDP leaders have come forward criticising the Deeksha.

Alleging that the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy who unnecessarily raised the issue of Telangana, is responsible for the present crisis in the state, TDP MLC Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu said that YS Jagan has merged his party into TRS in Telangana but is now protesting against the TRS government, adding that he has no clarity over his Deeksha.

While Telugu Desam leader Anam Vivekananda Reddy ridiculed the YSRCP Chief over the Jala Deeksha, Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao alleged that the Deeksha was being staged to divert the attention of people. Speaking to the media on Monday, the Minister said that YS Jagan is just doing the fast to overcome the backlash he faced after his party leaders joined the ruling TDP party.

Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheshwar Rao too reacted strongly against Jagan for making irresponsible statements against the AP government. Mentioning that he has already written to Central Water Resources department regarding the Palamur and Dindi projects proposed in Telangana, Devineni Uma further criticized Jagan for not playing a constructive role in the steady progress of Polavaram project and instead choosing a confrontational attitude.
