4-day chess tourney begins

Customs Commissioner SK Rahman inaugurated an International FIDE Rated Open Chess Tournament in the city on Wednesday. Icon Public School, in association with Global Chess Academy, is organising the four-day chess tournament.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahman underlined the need to promote chess in a big way as it helps boost the brain power of students. Dronacharya awardee Koneru Ashok, Icon School chairman K Rajendra, director Prakash, Global Chess Academy secretary Sk Khasim, Chess Association district secretary D Srihari and others were present.
