With intense heat during the day time, residents had a horrifying experience to stay indoors without power.

When Superintending Engineer (Transco) at Tirupati was contacted, all he could say was that he will look into the matter. Residents alleged that Transco officials are imposing power cuts despite the TDP government taking credit of supplying power for 24 hours. When asked, officials say repairs to transformers.

Power outages are the regular phenomenon in Journalist Colony, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Industrial Estate, Pensioners Colony and other localities. Transco ADE Munichandra said that they have been informing people in advance about power cuts through local dailies. He attributed long spell power cuts in a city on Tuesday as power consumption has gone up. He made it clear that Transco has no intention to trouble people.
