The State government has amended three laws enacted for the education sector in the united Andhra Pradesh.  The government has issued three separate government orders (GOs) here on Thursday in an exercise of the powers conferred under Section 101 of the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act, 2014.

Hyderabad: The State government has amended three laws enacted for the education sector in the united Andhra Pradesh. The government has issued three separate government orders (GOs) here on Thursday in an exercise of the powers conferred under Section 101 of the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act, 2014.

Accordingly, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education Act, 1988 has been amended to omit “Hyderabad” by substituting the same with State capital of Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, the words “Osmania University” and “Kakatiya University” have been omitted from the Act.

Similarly, The Andhra Pradesh Universities Act, 1991 has been amended by omitting the words that exclusively refers to the neighbouring state of Telangana. Likewise, the government has also made amendments to The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies Act, 2008 by doing away with words such as “Basara in Telangana”.
