Following strong protests from the employees, Chief Secretary S P Tucker on Friday said shifting of Secretariat employees before June 27 is not mandatory. He clarified that first HoDs would shift by June 27 and the shifting of Secretariat employees would take place in a phased manner depending on the completion of construction of temporary Secretariat building at Velagapudi. 

​Hyderabad: Following strong protests from the employees, Chief Secretary S P Tucker on Friday said shifting of Secretariat employees before June 27 is not mandatory. He clarified that first HoDs would shift by June 27 and the shifting of Secretariat employees would take place in a phased manner depending on the completion of construction of temporary Secretariat building at Velagapudi.

Further, a help desk would be started to figure out as to how many employees were ready to go to Amaravati and take steps in resolving the problems being faced by others who were not able to move to CRDA region. He assured the employees that the government would also address the issue related to admission of children into schools, nativity and high rentals and other issues.

However, the employees have asked the CS, either to shift the employees before the commencement of the academic year, or postpone shifting for another year. And, the employees have made it clear that they were ready to shift to CRDA region, but, asked the government first to resolve their issues.

Responding to the issues highlighted by the employees, the Chief Secretary assured to take the issues raised by them to the notice of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
