Tirupati: Union Bank of India disbursed loans to the tune of Rs 2.65 crore and assets of 87 light commercial vehicles to the beneficiaries from the district including Piler, Madanapalli, Chittoor, Puttur, Punganur and Srikalahasti at a function held here on Friday. The mass disbursement of loans and assets by UBI chairman and managing director Arun Tiwari includes Rs 37.45 lakh to the women SHG groups and Rs 133.85 lakh finance to 171 account holders under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular ‘Mudra’ loan scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, Tiwari said that his bank has stepped up its activities in the residuary Andhra Pradesh where efforts are on to expand the services to reach out to more people.
