Tuni agitators arrested, Mudragada stages dharna

Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham has taken up a Dharna at Amalapuram police station following the arrest of six community activists in connection with Tuni Kapu Garjana violence that took place a few months ago.

Demanding the release of the community leaders, Padmanabham told the reporters that he won't stay silent if innocent leaders are arrested and being the community's sole leader, he was liable for any punishment.

While the police were trying to obstruct the Dharna, the Kapu leader was adamant that the demonstration would continue till the arrested people were released. With more Kapu community leaders and the police reinforcements joining the Dharna area, tension has increased.

The police officials are ready to arrest Padmanabham also if things go out of control.
