Vijayawada: The red shirt volunteers of the CITU took out a rally from Tummalapalli Kala Kshetram to Lenin Centre on Friday as part of the campaign for the CITU State- level meeting to be held in the last week of June.

In all, 200 CITU activists wearing red shirts and holding CITU flags took part in the rally. The rally was inaugurated by CITU State president S Punyavathi.

It passed via M G Road, Challapalli Banglaw, Beasent Road and reached Lenin Centre.

Speaking on the occasion, Punyavathi criticised both the Central and State governments for trying to weaken the rights of workers and employees. CITU City secretary Muzafar Ahmed and others participated in the rally.
