Dead snake found in soft drink bottle

Tanuku: Next time you swig a bottle of soft drink, especially the cola varieties, make sure you get just what you have paid for: nothing more, nothing less.

On Sunday, a consumer, found to his horror a dead snake in a bottle of Thums Up that he had just drunk. A small bottle of the drink, which he purchased at a local shop in Tanuku came with value addition. Just as Kadali Prasad, who purchased the soft drinks as he was expecting relatives to his house, says he found a dead snake, stuck to the bottom, inside the bottle.

I could not make out that the snake was in the bottle, because it was in the same colour as the drink," Prasad claimed.

Taken aback, he confronted the owner of the shop with the bottle, who told him the bottle had come sealed in a batch that was delivered by his regular dealer.

The shop owner tried to contact the dealer, but could not reach him.

Prasad said the memory of having drunk from the bottle containing the dead snake kept him queasy all the day.
He said Thums Up is a big name and they ought to be more careful about how their product reaches the customer.
