Amaravati​: Minister for Water Resources Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao vowed to solve the issue of Kondaveetivagu floods. He visited the stream at Penumaka and Krishnayapalem villages in Guntur on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that modernisation works of the stream will start and flood problem will be solved soon. He said that the flood water would be used as irrigation water and for drinking purposes also.

The farmers, who incurred heavy losses with the floods, will now replenish the tanks with water,” he added.

The Minister said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu gave his nod for the modernisation works following the initiative taken by the Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and Minister for Agriculture Prathipathi Pulla Rao.

Uma asserted that the works would be completed in a stipulated time.Later, he inspected the works taken up for Krishna Pushkaralu in Tadepalli mandal.
