Vijayawada: When the city’s CCS police have caught two men found to be suspicious at 100 feet road in Tadepalli on the morning of Wednesday, little did they know that they both would bring out the criminal behind two murders and several thefts. Upon inquiry, police have taken five into custody and seized Rs 50 lakh worth gold chains which weigh about 1.4 kilos.

He was identified as Bankuri Venkata Sivanagaraju (38) of Machavaram who has been involved in two murders that occurred in 2003 and 2004 besides 8 chain snatching cases. He was also booked in Mangalagiri police station for attempting to rob a bank.
According to details, police have taken Singaruvelu Ramachandran and Devara Praveen Kumar into custody on the morning of Wednesday who confessed to have snatched chains away from commuters. They possessed two motorcycles which were eventually seized.
Ramachandran alias Ramu (44) works as a painter in construction department who happened to meet Sivanagaraju through a common friend called Bujji. They frequented each other at a bar shop near Imdad Ghar in One Town. During the course, they met Kondapalli Srinu (38) who belongs to VTPS colony and his friends Ramabahadur alias Bahadur (32) and Pendem Naresh Babu (32). Five of them have become close knit friends and shared common interests for crime and easy money.
