Nasannakota(Anantapur): Minister for Civil Supplies Paritala Sunitha stated that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had fullfilled his pre-election promise of debt waiver soon after coming to power by signing the file on loan waiver. Addressing a 'Farmers empowerment meeting' at Nasannakota village in Ramagiri mandal here on Sunday, Sunitha said that Naidu during his padayatra had promised farmers of waiving their loans after coming to power and redeemed his promise by first waiving off loans up to Rs 50,000 at one go. Loans which are above Rs 50,000 were being waived in five phases by crediting Rs 20,000 to their accounts in the first phase.

The prestigious loan waiver promise had been implemented to all the farmers. In all, 9,578 farmers loans to the tune of Rs 9 crore have been waived in the district, she added. She also stated that groundnut seeds distribution was also carried out hassle-free to the farmers. The Navadhanyalu scheme is under implementation at a subsidised price of Rs 150 by extending a subsidy of Rs 350 out of total price of Rs 500 per kit.

She said that the district conserved two tmc of rain water through farm ponds. Agriculture JD Sriramamurthy also spoke on the loan waiver implementation in the district.
