Eluru: Mahila Congress leaders and workers placed a memorandum at the feet of Lord Venkateswara at Dwaraka Tirumala in West Godavari district on Sunday.

Women workers led by All India Mahila Congress State in-charge and Nizamabad MLC Akula Lalitha, State Mahila Congress president Sunkara Padmasri and vice-president Amarjaha Baig visited Dwaraka Tirumala as part of the agitation against anti-people policies of the TDP government.

They offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara and submitted a memorandum to the Lord.

Speaking on the occasion, MLC Akula Lalitha, State Mahila Congress president Sunkara Padmasri and vice-president Amarjaha Baig said that the TDP had failed to fulfil its election promises in the past two years.

They said as per the call given by Mahila Congress Committee, they launched ‘Poru Bata’ in State against the policies of the TDP government.

The Mahila Congress leaders said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu failed to implement loan waiver for DWCRA groups.

They also demanded that the government provide drinking water to rural areas on a war footing. The Mahila Congress leaders also urged the government to remove all belt shops immediately.

They said since the State government had turned a deaf ear to their pleas, they submitted a memorandum to Lord Venkateswara.

District Congress president Rafiullah Baig, Youth Congress district president P Pradeep and Mahila Congress district president Pakala Subhadra were present.
