Principal Secretary Environment and Forest, Dr PV Ramesh on Monday announced that the Andhra Pradesh government will be taking up the Vanam-Manam programme where one crore saplings will be planted across the state from July 28.
PV Ramesh who conducted a video conference with collectors of all districts directed the district collectors to take measures to plant at least 10 lakh saplings in each district and transform the state into Harithandhra Pradesh.
He further stated that the saplings should be ensured of getting sufficient amount of water on a regular basis adding that the funds for the massive plantation drive would be provided by NREGS.
