DGP holds high level meeting
The Director General of Police JV Ramudu arrived here on Tuesday to participate in a series of programmes in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts. Soon after arrival, the DGP chaired an internal meeting with senior police, para-military and intelligence officers.

The meeting had significance in the wake of the Intelligence Bureau alerting the States against the possible terrorist attacks. Besides the DGP, officials of IB from New Delhi and police officials from Chhattisgarh, Odisha and other states also participated in the meeting.
Police sources said the agenda of the meeting included internal security of Andhra Pradesh, the Maoist attacks in the Andhra-Orissa Border (AOB) area and the extremists growing strength in the region. The DGP visit was kept in secrecy due to presence of high ranking officials from New Delhi.
