Ease norms to promote business:Confederation of Indian Industries
CII Vijayawada zone chairman G Venkateswara Rao underlined the need to amend the Labour laws. He also sought amendments to labour policy reforms to improve the ease of doing business for MSMEs. To give more economic independence to States, he suggested that Labour laws be brought under the State List from the existing Concurrent List.
​Vijayawada: Vijayawada: Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Vijayawada chapter organised an interactive session with Labour department Commissioner D Varaprasad here on Friday. The objective of the session was to address issues pertaining to the Labour department from the context of ‘ease of doing business’ for existing and proposed industries in the State.
CII Vijayawada zone chairman G Venkateswara Rao underlined the need to amend the Labour laws. He also sought amendments to labour policy reforms to improve the ease of doing business for MSMEs. To give more economic independence to States, he suggested that Labour laws be brought under the State List from the existing Concurrent List.
The Labour department commissioner made a detailed presentation on various Labour Acts amendments. He also spoke on integrated registration of establishments which was made online for the convenience of everyone.
The Labour department’s performance index was tagged to the Chief Minister’s dashboard and the work is being monitored daily, thereby ensuring transparency,” he said.
The commissioner further explained the salient features of Chandranna Bima Scheme, AP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and AP Transport Drivers Social Security Scheme.
Additional commissioner of Labour department Y Surya Prasad answered the questions posed by the industrialists pertaining to the labour laws and reforms, registrations, wages and labour concerns at the interactive session. Around 100 industrialists attended the programme.
