Gymboree comes to Vijayawada
Krishna district Collector Babu Ahmad and Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad formally inaugurated the play school. Speaking on the occasion, the Krishna district Collector said that Amaravati was slowly getting on to the global map with globally-reputed institutions establishing their branches here.
Vijayawada: Gymboree Play and Music School established its first play school in Andhra Pradesh here on Saturday. This is the fourth branch for Gymboree in India, after Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad.
Krishna district Collector Babu Ahmad and Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad formally inaugurated the play school. Speaking on the occasion, the Krishna district Collector said that Amaravati was slowly getting on to the global map with globally-reputed institutions establishing their branches here.
He said that Amaravati would attract more such institutions offering quality education and better employment for the people here. “The city was slowly turning into a global centre and Gymboree set up its branch here,” the Collector said.
Deputy Speaker Buddha Prasad welcomed the Akshara Initiatives for establishing the world class play school for the children in the city. He said that the city would see total change in the next few years with international institutions having their establishments here.
He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was bringing more global institutions here transforming the city into a global destination.
Gymboree Indian representative Rachana Meheta said that the school offers education and music to the children from 0 to 5 years age.
They have play class, art class, music class, besides baby programmes, pre-school programmes and sports programmes. Gymobre head trainer Vikhita Khanna, local head Mandali Krishna Prabha, chess grand master Koneru Humpy, former MLC Ilapuram Venkaiah, MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and others were present.
