Vizag forest guards search for missing AN 32

The search for Indian Air Force transport plane AN 32 has been shifted to Visakhapatnam Agency forest area on Saturday. The forest guards searched for the debris of the aircraft in Sarugudu and Daddula villages of  Natavaram mandal in Visakhapatnam.

Visakhapatnam: The search for Indian Air Force transport plane AN 32 has been shifted to Visakhapatnam Agency forest area on Saturday. The forest guards searched for the debris of the aircraft in Sarugudu and Daddula villages of Natavaram mandal in Visakhapatnam.

Confirming the search, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests N Prateep Kumar told this correspondent that some local people called IAF station located at Suryalanka near Bapatla in Guntur district and informed them about sighting the debris of an aircraft.

The IAF personnel contacted divisional forest officer of Narsipatnam D Sekhar Babu and asked him about the search.

A good number of forest guards went out for search, but later called off due to heavy rain and poor visibility, the APCCF said.

A senior official from the Eastern Naval Command clarified that Indian Navy was not aware of such operations.
