PCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy on Sunday met the families of those onboard the missing Indian Air Force transport plane AN 32 in Visakhapatnam where he addressed the issue of the special status category.

Alleging that both BJP and TDP were putting on an act on the issue, Raghuveera Reddy further said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is choosing to focus on additional Assembly seats to accommodate the defected MLAs instead of fighting for the special status.

Pointing out that Narendra Modi had promised 10 years of special category status during 2014 poll campaign while Chandrababu demanded 15 years of fund allocations, he said that both have forgotten their promises after coming to power.

The PCC Chief stated that Congress has succeeded in garnering support of 11 political parties in Parliament for the cause and will launch the action plan on August 5.
