Guntur Urban SP Sarva Sresta Tripathi has instructed police officials to help children and elders at pushkar ghats and pass on necessary information to the visiting pilgrims.
Guntur: Guntur Urban SP Sarva Sresta Tripathi has instructed police officials to help children and elders at pushkar ghats and pass on necessary information to the visiting pilgrims.
He conducted a meeting with police personnel here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he directed police personnel to alert higher officials if pilgrim flow increases suddenly at any pushkar ghat.
He instructed policemen not to allow pilgrims to cross barricades and go into the river to take a dip. He directed them to see that pinda pradhanam should be performed in the sheds near the ghats.
The SP said that CC cameras will be installed at all ghats. He instructed policemen to take steps to regulate traffic during the pushkaralu.
He said that the department will set up ‘May I Help You’ counters at ghats. He urged the pilgrims to avail the facilities being provided by the district administration.
