Guntur: YSRCP leaders took out a motor cycle rally to make bandh on August 2, a success, so as to mount pressure on the Central government to accord Special Category Status for State.

The party activists led by party city president Lella Appi Reddy took out a motor cycle rally in Brodipet and Arundalpet.

The motor cycle rally which started from party office, passed through Sankar Vilas Centre, Lodge Centre and culminated at Flyover Bridge Centre.

Speaking on the occasion, Appi Reddy reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to accord Special Category Status (SCS) for State but failed to keep his promise.

He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had failed to mount pressure on the Centre for SCS for gaining a political mileage. He urged the people to make bandh on August 2 a success to mount pressure on the Central and State governments for SCS.

He said that the YSRCP will continue its agitation, till SCS is achieved.

Meanwhile, leaders under the aegis of Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi too took out a rally in Guntur to make bandh a success.

Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi leaders took out a rally from Sankara Vilas to Lodge Centre. Speaking on the occasion, CPI State assistant secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao criticised the NDA government for its failure to accord SCS for State.

He said that the TDP was not mounting enoughpressure on the Centre to get SCS.

Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi district president P V Mallikarjuna Rao urged the people to make bandh on August 2 a success. Pratyeka Hoda Sadha Samithi leaders A Subba Rao and Malyadri participated in the rally.
