Kanchi seers to inaugurate Pushkaralu on August 12
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that Krishna Pushkaralu will be inaugurated on August 12 morning by Kanchi seers Jayendra Saraswati and Vijayendra Saraswati. He said 156 Pushkar ghats are ready for the 12-day river festival.

Speaking to media persons at CM camp office here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that Krishna river bank and the canal banks in the city were beautified to provide lung space for people. He said that Vijayawada will be illuminated, food courts will be arranged on the apron downstream of Prakasam Barrage and Bhavani Island will be beautified during Pushkaralu.
Naidu said that the ghats will be divided into four categories including A plus, A, B and C and IAS rank officer will be in-charge for each ghat. One Deputy Collector and multi-functional team will be appointed in three shifts at each ghat, he added.
The Chief Minister said that Pavitra Harati will be given to Krishna-Godavari confluence at Ferry village near Ibrahimpatnam on August 11 evening. He said that the Akshaya Patra Foundation came forward to serve food to 3 lakh pilgrims and TTD to one lakh pilgrims daily. He said that several other voluntary organisations also came forward to serve food to people during Pushkaralu.
The Chief Minister said that debates will be conducted on different subjects on all 12 days in educational institutions. He said that the government is planning to set up society for innovation to improve creativity and innovation among students. He informed that the students would have to work in 4,000 clusters.
He said the State will be developed into another silicon valley.
