Candlelight rally for special status held

Tirupati: The district Congress party took out a candle light rally as part of intensifying the stir to press the Central government to accord Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh, here on Thursday evening.

Mahila Congress activists including district president R Sridevi, State secretary N Srinivasulu, party district president P Venugopal Reddy, leaders Yarlapalli Gopi, Mallikarjuna Reddy and others participated in the rally in a good number.

The activists raised slogans against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and BJP. They said that SCS is the right of Andhra Pradesh people and not the mercy of anyone. The rally which took off from Krishnapuram has ended in Nalugukalla Mandapam Circle in the city.
