New Delhi: TDP MP K Narayana Rao sought to discuss the power supply woes of aquaculture farmers in the coastal areas, in Lok Sabha here on Thursday.
Narayana Rao asked the Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal whether there was any proposal under the scheme to provide electricity at subsidised rates to poor farmers, as their dependence on diesel engines was increasing the investment costs.
He said Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana launched by the Centre to provide uninterrupted power supply to rural areas would be better utilised, if such a scheme was extended with subsidy.
