Thundershowers likely in coastal Andhra Pradesh
There was rain in Vizianagaram, East Godavari, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam districts, with Mandasa (Srikakulam) receiving four cm of rain.The Met department bulletin said there was two cm each of rain in Salur, Vepada, Komarada, Pusapatirega (all in Vizianagaram), Vararamachandrapuram, (East Godavari), Pathapatnam and Palasa (both in Srikakulam).
Hyderabad: Due to the low pressure area over the north Odisha and its adjoining Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal, rain occurred at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and at isolated places in Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday.
The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels. The trough from Odisha to south Tamil Nadu across coastal Andhra Pradesh is persisting.

One cm rain each occurred in Chintur, Tekkali, Paderu, Denkada, Srungavarapukota, Bheemunipatnam, Vizianagaram, Bobbili, Ranastalam, Narsipatnam, Araku Valley, Mangalagiri, Gajapathinagaram, Parvathipuram, Sompeta, Kurupam, Therlam, Merakamudi Dam, Mentada, Garugubilli, Chintapalle, Seethanagaram, Bondapalle, Gantyada, Devanakonda and Aspari.
According to the forecast, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in the coastal districts and at isolated places in Rayalaseema from August 6 to 9.
