Hyderabad: Due to the low pressure area over the north Odisha and its adjoining Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal, rain occurred at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and at isolated places in Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday.

The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels. The trough from Odisha to south Tamil Nadu across coastal Andhra Pradesh is persisting.

One cm rain each occurred in Chintur, Tekkali, Paderu, Denkada, Srungavarapukota, Bheemunipatnam, Vizianagaram, Bobbili, Ranastalam, Narsipatnam, Araku Valley, Mangalagiri, Gajapathinagaram, Parvathipuram, Sompeta, Kurupam, Therlam, Merakamudi Dam, Mentada, Garugubilli, Chintapalle, Seethanagaram, Bondapalle, Gantyada, Devanakonda and Aspari.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in the coastal districts and at isolated places in Rayalaseema from August 6 to 9.
