Atmakur (Kurnool): The sangameswara temple, which is located at the confluence of several rivers, including river Krishna, is facing the threat of inundation because of floods caused discharge of water by neighbouring Maharashtra. The temple is under flood water up to roof level.

There were practically no inflows into Srisailam dam for the past two years on account of drought. The temple is on the verge of submergence after a gap of 571 days.

There is 50 per cent chance of even the bathing ghats located at a higher altitude getting submerged. Devotees are thronging the place to catch a glimpse of the temple on the way to inundation.
