Speaking to the media on Thursday, the DRO said that Krishna Pushkaralu will commence on August 12 and conclude on August 23. The State government has taken steps to create 72 ghats for Krishna Pushkaralu covering Krishna, Guntur and Kurnool districts, he said and added that elaborate arrangements have been made for the pilgrims by involving voluntary organisations. 

Chittoor: As per the instructions of District Collector Siddharth Jain, as many as 3,500 State government employees pertaining to several departments have been deployed from Chittoor District to provide their services at Krishna Pushkaralu commencing on August 12, according to Vijayachander, District Revenue Officer (DRO). Of these, 3 IAS officers, 11 Deputy Collectors, 15 tahsildars and 11 deputy tahsildars are from the Revenue department, he said.

He stressed it was the moral responsibility of everyone to take part in the Krishna Pushkaralu and have a holy bath in the Krishna River.

During the 12-day event, different cultural and official programmes would be held in Chittoor in which several State Government departments would take part, said the DRO.

Deputy Director of Public Relations Mani Ram and others officials were present. The DRO unveiled the Krishna Pushkaralu poster in the presence of the media.
