Kurnool: Demanding special status, the National Student Union of India (NSUI) staged a protest at Raj Vihar Centre on Wednesday.NSUI national secretary Sameer Ansari Khan alleged that the State and the Central governments were doing great injustice to AP by dillydallying on the issue. He lashed out at the Centre in failing to keep its promise of sanctioning a Central university to AP.

NSUI district president Naga Madhu Yadav said that the NSUI would continue its fight till special status is accorded to the State. Earlier, they took out a procession from Zilla Parishad to Raj Vihar Centre after garlanding Mahatma Gandhi statue.

Later, they burnt the effigy of the State government. NSUI city president Praveen, Panyam, Yemmignoor, Adoni presidents Srinu, Veeresh Yadav, Mahesh Naidu, Hussain Mouneshwar Reddy and others were also present on the occasion.
