Kurnool Chhattisgarh police nab four Maoists
The Maoists were wanted for various crimes in Chattisgarh. Acting on valid information that the foursome was taking shelter at Kurnool by working as labourers at the tunnel works of a major irrigation project, the Chattisgarh police came down to Kurnool and sought the assistance of Kurnool SP Ake Ravi Krishna.
Kurnool: In a joint operation by the Kurnool and Chattisgarh police, four Maoists, Kavasi Bheema, Podium Lakma, Hidma Kartami and Kattadu Unga, all aged about 22 to 26 years and natives of Kunna Peddapara village of Sukma district in Chattisgarh, were taken into custody at Mettupalli village in Owk Mandal of Kurnool district. They were produced before the media on Thursday.

Revealing their details, Ravi Krishna said that Kavasi Bheema was the militia commander for Sukma district in Chattisgarh. He was the prime accused in a firing case at Mankapal village.
He was also wanted for destroying ballot boxes, devastation of the National Highway at Suguma district, injuring a constable Ashok Yadav of Special Task Force (STF), indiscriminate firing at District Reserve Group (DRG) party and killing another STF constable Ramnath Attami in an encounter that took place in April, 2016, said Ravi Krishna.
The Maoist Kavasi Bheema is believed to have resorted to the above crimes under the instructions of in-charge militia commander of Chattisgarh area, DCM Deva. The other three members were also said to have been involved in the aforesaid crimes, said the SP. The cops seized 7 gelatin sticks, 28 detonators and 20 boosters from them.
Ake Ravi Krishna appreciated the efforts of Dhone Circle Inspector Y Srinivasa Rao and Sub-Inspectors of Dhone, Owk, Banaganapalle and Kolimigundla Subramanayam Reddy, CM Rakesh, Puli Shekhar and Venkatarami Reddy and also announced rewards to them.
The SP of Sukuma district of Chattisgarh Elsela Kalyan, Bastar Cyber cell in-charge Mohan Naidu, Sub-Inspectors Shivaji, Santosh Baggal and Susheel Burwa took part in the operation.
