Visakhapatnam: The Senior Executive Director of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, Prof B V R Chowdari, met the Andhra University authorities here on Thursday and said that NTU is keen in doing joint research works with Andhra University.

During discussions, Prof Chowdari said that Andhra University should go ahead with the NTU-India Connect Programme. NTU is working in association with national educational institutions like IITs, IISC and NIT in research works in the country.

The NTU, he said is interested to have a tie up with Andhra University by extending internships to the Andhra University students. The authorities discussed modalities and the availability of infrastructure for doing joint research in the areas of medical and engineering.

We are already working with IISC in Nano Technology and in energy wing with IIT, New Delhi in research programmes,” he added.Responding to the interest shown by the NTU, Singapore, Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao told the senior Executive Director that Andhra University official team will visit NTU soon.

The Andhra University will take up research projects in association with NTU involving young researchers. Let both universities organise symposiums, internships and faculty exchange programmes,” the Vice-Chancellor added.

UGC coordinator Prof K Srinivasa Rao disclosed that Andhra University has already signed 79 MoUs for conducting joint researches.
