300 cases settled in Lok Adalats

Eluru: As many as 300 cases were settled on a single day at National Lok Adalats held across the district on Saturday.District Legal Services Authority chairman and Principal District Judge N Tukaramji said villagers should sit and settle their differences amicably among themselves.
He said 44 pre-litigation cases were settled and a sum of Rs 39.65 lakh was disbursed during the National Lok Adalat held at the district courts on Saturday.A total of 21 motor accident cases, civil cases and bank cases were settled at the Lok Adalat. The motor accident cases were settled for a total sum of Rs 54.10 lakh. Similarly, eight cheque bounce cases were settled for a sum of Rs 12.18 lakh and 133 criminal and 113 excise cases were settled for a total sum of Rs 24,050,” he added.
