As the Krishna Pushkaralu commenced from the Thursday night, the pilgrims and devotees thronged Amaravati from early hours of Friday. Agriculture Minister, Pedakurapadu MLA Kommalapati Sridhar reached Amaravati and took the holy dip in the River Krishna in the ‘Brahmi muhurat’ at Amareswara ghat to get rid of sins. 

Amaravati: The much anticipated event of the year, Krishna Pushkaralu started amid fanfare in Amaravati. The Minister for Agriculture Prathipati Pulla Rao, District Collector Kantilal Dande and MLAs took a holy dip in the early morning and sought blessings of Lord Amareswara Swamy.

As the Krishna Pushkaralu commenced from the Thursday night, the pilgrims and devotees thronged Amaravati from early hours of Friday. Agriculture Minister, Pedakurapadu MLA Kommalapati Sridhar reached Amaravati and took the holy dip in the River Krishna in the ‘Brahmi muhurat’ at Amareswara ghat to get rid of sins.

District Collector accompanied by the Minister offered prayers at Amareswara Swamy temple. Vinukonda MLA G V Anjaneyulu and his family members took bath and had darshan of Amareswara Swamy in the morning hours.

Minister Pulla Rao unveiled Krishnaveni statue and inaugurated the Media Centre which was set up at the conference hall of MDO office in Amaravati. He said that elaborate arrangements have been made for the convenience of the pilgrims.

He said, “Pushkarnagars were set up with facilities like food, drinking water and resting arrangements. Medical camps have been set up at the Pushkarnagars as well as Pushkar ghats. Police personnel from other districts arrived here to help the local officials in making the Pushkaralu a peaceful and successful event.”

The Collector said that they provided necessary facilities in 72 Pushkar ghats and 14 Pushkarnagars in Guntur district.
As the event continues for another 11days, we are asking all the departments and officials to work in tandem.”

MLAs Sridhar and Anjaneyulu asked the pilgrims to utilise the facilities like free food, water and accommodation at Pushkarnagars. They appealed to them to cooperate with the officials for smooth conduct of the mega event.
