Rajamahendravaram: Marking the completion of six decades of service to the nation, ONGC, has initiated a pan-India Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign in all the company’s operational areas. As part of this initiative, ONGC handed over a cheque for Rs 14 lakh to Badava village in West Godavari district towards restoration of water filter beds.

The cheque was handed over by VP Mahawar, ONGC Director (Onshore) to the secretary of the Badava Gram Panchayat in the presence of Palakollu MLA Dr Nimmala Rama Naidu and ONGC Asset Manager (Enforcement Directorate) Debasis Sanyal.

Villagers of Badava have been suffering from water-borne diseases and the restoration project will provide safe drinking water to 2,678 residents of the village.

The village administration with help from ONGC would be able to tackle the issue successfully,” said Rama Naidu. He lauded ONGC for its continuous support for the development of the village.

ONGC is committed to the welfare of the people in its operational areas and it takes utmost care of the environment while performing its national duty of producing oil and gas. Safety of the employees and people has been at the heart of ONGC since its inception in 1956,” said Mahawar.
