Biggest flag in State hoisted.
A huge 72X48 foot national flag was hoisted at Bhogapuram bypass road near Eluru on 70th Independence Day Celebrations. A septuagenarian hoisted the flag on a 235-foot pole erected by Kavuri Bhaskar Rao, son of former Union Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao. This is the biggest flag and pole in the State.Â

This is the biggest flag and pole in the State.
The pole was decorated with electrical bulbs. Speaking on the occasion, Kavuri Bhaskar Rao said that he had erected a 100-foot flagpole and hoisted a 30x20 foot flag on it, at his residence in Hyderabad in 2011.
He said his intention was to promote patriotism among the people and bring a good reputation to the city of Eluru.
District Collector K Bhaskar, Endowments Minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao, Tollywood actor and students of various schools along with their teachers participated in the event.
