Government to inter-link Krishna-Penna rivers soon.
Minister for Agriculture Prathipati Pulla Rao said that the government will interlink the Krishna, Penna rivers soon to solve drought problem in the State.
Amaravati: Minister for Agriculture Prathipati Pulla Rao said that the government will interlink the Krishna, Penna rivers soon to solve drought problem in the State.
He reminded that the government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has already inter-linked the Krishna -Godavari rivers by constructing the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme and released Pattiseema water to the Krishna delta for kharif season.
Similarly, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is planning to inter-link the Krishna and Penna rivers, he pointed out. The Minister inspected Seethangaram Ghat on Monday and interacted with the pilgrims.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government is conducting the Krishna Pushkaralu and seeking the blessings of the river Goddess Krishnaveni for the development of the State. He further stated that the development was linked with river water.
He urged the pilgrims not to pollute the rivers. He instructed the officials to provide better facilities to the pilgrims. He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials to provide better facilities to the pilgrims at the ghats.
He said that the APSRTC is plying additional buses and set up additional dress changing rooms. Drinking facility was provided for the pilgrims at various places.
He said that the government was using modern technology to render better services to the pilgrims. He said that they were using drones to know tghe pilgrims’ rush at various ghats and taking steps to solve the problems.
He said that the aim of the government is provide better services to the pilgrims and added that the government has spent Rs1,477 crore for the Krishna Pushkaralu. Pulla Rao was accompanied by MLA Sravan Kumar.
