Vijayawada: Vice-Chancellors of 20 universities in the State on Friday visited the Central Command Control Room constructed near Durga ghat for monitoring the Krishna Pushkaralu.Equipped with state-of-art technology, the control room is being used by expert officials to monitor the pushkar ghats and traffic at important junctions of the city.

The Vice-Chancellors who visited the control room are Prof. Rajendra Prasad (Acharya Nagarjuna University), Prof. Ramakrishna Rao (Krishna University), Prof. Y Narasimhulu (Rayalaseema University) Prof. Veeraiah (Vikrama Simhapuri University), Prof. A Damodaram (Sri Venkateswara University), Prof. Rajagopal (Sri Krishnadevaraya University), Dravidian University, Andhra University, etc

It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also visited the Control Room to inspect the Pushkaralu on LED screens arranged there . District Collector Babu A explained to the Vice-Chancellors and other top officials of the universities the importance of Command and Control Room and arrangements made for the Krishna Pushkaralu.

The Collector said the district administration worked for six months for the construction of ghats, roads and other infrastructure facilities. He said toll free helpline 1077 was set up and being maintained by students of IIIT, Nuzvid, for the convenience of pilgrims.

Commissioner of Technical Education B Udayalakshmi inspected the Central Command Control Room on Friday and expressed satisfaction over the elaborate arrangements made for the Pushkaralu.

After the inspection, she interacted with the media persons near Durga ghat. She felt controlling crores of people is not an easy task and praised the district officials for the successful conduct of the Pushkaralu.
