Officials from TTD, MCT, R and B, Transco, Fire, Information and Public Relations etc. have attended the meeting. They discussed about the arrangements to be made for the Ganesh Nimajjanam which would be held here on September 7.

Vinay Chand directed the corporation authorities to take up the cleaning of Vinayak Sagar, on the outskirts of the city, where the immersion of Ganesh idols would take place, including de-silting, removal of weeds and also strengthening the approach road, lighting, setting up ramp, maintenance of sanitation and medical facilities including stationing a 108 ambulance with paramedical staff.

He also sought the officials to provide a crane for lifting of big idols for immersion, a team of expert swimmers and a fire engine be kept ready for any rescue operation during the immersion ceremony.

The official said that the TTD would provide float and also set up public address system for devotional music programme and also guide those participating in the immersion ceremony.

Vinayaka Nimajjanam Committee coordinator Samanchi Srinivas said arrangements are going on for conducting celebrations of the Vinayaka Chavithi festival on September 5 and conclude with the immersion of idols in Vinayak Sagar on September 7.

He made an appeal to the public more so youth to support the committee for the successful and smooth conduct of the festival in the pilgrim city and requested them to strictly confine to devotional programmes at the Ganesh pandals.

TTD trust board member G Bhanuprakash Reddy, social activist Mangati Gopal Reddy and others were present.
