Tadepalligudem: Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said that healthcare programme will be conducted free of cost for women above 35 years in the State within a month.He took part in the free cancer test and awareness camp organised by the Grace Cancer Foundation at Peda Tadepalli village under Tadepalligudem mandal in West Godavari on Sunday. Endowments Minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao inaugurated the camp.

Speaking on the occasion, the Health Minister said that all clinical tests including the cancer, diabetes would be conducted to women under ‘Women Healthcare’ scheme, and said some agencies have already confirmed by calling national e-tenders.During the earlier government, he said higher amounts were paid to the clinical tests even in the government hospitals. However, he pointed out that the TDP government was conducting the modern clinical tests with least expenditure.

He said that during 2011 the then government had collected Rs 1,211 for clinical tests, and now the present TDP government had called for tenders and allotted the clinical examination to international agencies like NEFROLIS for Rs 960 only. He expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of 120 urban health centres out of 243 centres, and steps were taken to strengthen the centres, he added.

The Health Minister promised an accident trauma care centre would be established in Tadepalligudem after Endowments Minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao requested for same. He said a dialysis centre with 12 dialysis machines would be started within 15 days, besides the trauma care centre at Government Area Hospital.Endowments Minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao said that the government with the cooperation of Centre has been supplying generic medicines at cheaper rates to common people.
