Government wants ryots to get higher yields
Addressing a gathering after distributing power-tillers to farmers on 50 per cent subsidy, the MLA said Rs 58 lakh had been allocated to the constituency for farm mechanisation. He also said the government has been taking the necessary initiative to help the farmers in all respects, like providing power sprayers, combined harvesters, tractor-drawn post-harvesters on subsidy.
Pithapuram: Legislator SVSN Verma on Sunday said the State government’s objective is to help farmers achieve bumper harvest through mechanisation of agriculture.
Addressing a gathering after distributing power-tillers to farmers on 50 per cent subsidy, the MLA said Rs 58 lakh had been allocated to the constituency for farm mechanisation.
He also said the government has been taking the necessary initiative to help the farmers in all respects, like providing power sprayers, combined harvesters, tractor-drawn post-harvesters on subsidy.
The MLA distributed farm mechanistion equipment on subsidy to farmers of Virava, kumarapuram, LN Puram, Mangiturti and P Rayavaram villages of the mandal.
Market yard committee chairman Medisetty Veerabhadra Rao, Agriculture department officials Padmasri, Ch Satyanarayana, Sudhamadhuri and others took part in the programme.
