Indian Navy team won the Inter Services Aquatic Championship which concluded in the Command Swimming Pool in INS Circars here on Saturday.

​Visakhapatnam: Indian Navy team won the Inter Services Aquatic Championship which concluded in the Command Swimming Pool in INS Circars here on Saturday.

Two teams from the Army and one each from the Navy and the Air Force, comprising 170 contestants, competed across 20 disciplines, including diving and water polo, which commenced on August 16. Vice-Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.

Indian Navy team won the trophy with 97 points, while Indian Air Force team was declared the runner up with 89 points. The water polo competition was won by Army Red team and Indian Navy team was the runner up.

Anand AS, aircraftsman of Indian Air Force team, with an individual medal tally of four gold and one silver medal was adjudged the best swimmer of the championship.

Vice-Admiral Atul Kumar Jain gave away the prizes to the individual winners and trophies to the winning teams.

This five day event was a precursor to the forthcoming National Championships and will facilitate the selection of the Services Team.

This 66th edition Inter- Services Aquatics Championship was hosted by INS Circars, and conducted under the aegis of Services Sports Control Board, Visakhapatnam.
