Services of Tanguturi recalled
In this connection, Collector Arun kumar said that Tanguturi’s bravery is ideal for the people. He showed courage during ‘Simon go back’ movement and he was honored as ‘Andhra Kesari’. He also worked as chairperson of Rajahmundry municipal council and he was closely associated with this district.
Kakinada: The first Chief Minister of combined Andhra State Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu jayanthi was celebrated as an official function at Kakinada on Tuesday. In a function arranged at ZP junction here, District Collector H Arun Kumar and Kakinada city MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao garlanded the Tanguturi statue and remembered the services rendered by him in the freedom movement and for the Andhra State.

Many institutions are functioning after his name in the district, he added. He further said that as per the instructions of the State government, Tanguturi jayanthi was celebrated as a State function in the district.
City MLA Venkateswara Rao said, while remembering his services, the youth should take his life as a model to work for the nation’s development with courage and commitment. Joint Collector S Satyanarayana, RDO BR Ambedkar, DPRO M Francis, DEO Narasimha Rao were present.
