During its overseas deployment the ship will conduct exercises with the Coast Guard and navies of these littoral nations. 

Visakhapatnam: Indian Coast Guard Ship ICGS Vishwast all set to sail to Bangladesh, Myanmar and Thailand on Friday. The 94- metre long vessel of OPV class was built at Goa Shipyard with modern equipment to carry out coast guard specific tasks. As a measure of goodwill, the ship will be carrying packaged water and food for the distribution among people affected by recent floods in Myanmar.

Such exercises are helpful in understanding and validating the Standard Operating Procedures in case of eventuality arising where the Coast Guard of two nations have to operate jointly.
