At the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple here, where the three-day Krishnashtami celebrations are underway, special poojas and bhajans by devotees were held.

Tirupati: Gaiety and religious fervour marked Krishnashtami celebrations in the pilgrim city on Thursday. The temples were decked up and were thrown open after special rituals for the devotees, who thronged the shrines from early in the morning to offer prayers on the special occasion.

At the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple here, where the three-day Krishnashtami celebrations are underway, special poojas and bhajans by devotees were held.

In the evening, Utlotsav was conducted in which large number youth from the city took part adding tempo to the colourful Janmashtami festival in the temple premises.

A musical dance drama by an international troupe was also staged. The entire temple was tastefully decorated with cut-out images of mythological characters related to Lord Krishna. Large number of people from the city and surrounding places turned up to have darshan in ISKCON temple.
