Akiveedu: Undi MLA Vetukuri Sivaramaraju said that environmental cleanliness was the only solution for a healthy society. He was speaking at a meeting in Akiveedu village in the district on Saturday.

The MLA promised a tractor-load of sand free of cost to those who go in for construction of individual latrines, on behalf of voluntary organisation, Shiva Foundation. He said proposals have been prepared to take up repair works and construct new drains on the main channels of Ganganammakodu, Andeluri and Mulalanka.

District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman Mutyala Venkateswara Rao, Agriculture Market Committee Chairman Motupalli Prasad, Mandal Parishad Development Officer Nayini Srinadh, Mandal Tahsildar Nagarjuna Reddy, Panchayat Secretary Tagore, Mandal Parishad Vice-President Chikatla Ramarao and others participated in the meeting. Village Sarpanch Gontla Ganapati presided over the meeting.
