CPI demands white paper

Vijayawada: CPI secretary Donepudi Sankar demanded that the State government should release white paper on Krishna Pushakarlu expenditure in view of alleged irregularities.Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Sankar said that irregularities took place in civil works of Krishna Pushkaralu. The State government entrusted works to the Telugu Desam leaders without calling any tenders, he alleged.
The prominent civil engineering companies were not given opportunity to participate in the works, he pointed out and alleged that Vijayawada Mayor reportedly took up works in the name of his wife which indicates nepotism in granting contract works.
The contractors had executed the works ignoring the engineering standards and many civil works remained incomplete, he said.
The CPI leader demanded that the government order a Vigilance inquiry into the works and take action against those who committed irregularities in the execution of works and release white paper on expenditure incurred during the Krishna Pushkaralu.
