City girl selected for national Artistic Skating team
The Andhra Pradesh Skating Association and Krishna District Sports Authority (KDSA) felicitated her at the Dandamudi Rajagopala Rao Municipal Corporation Stadium on Tuesday. Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Officer on Special Duty (OSD) P Ramkrishna congratulated her on the occasion.
Vijayawada: City girl Riya Saboo has been selected for Indian Artistic Skating team and qualified for two International Championships also. The 8th standard girl qualified for Asia Artistic Championship 2016 to be held in China from October 23 to November 12. She was also selected for World Artistic Championship which will be held in Italy from September 28 to October 8.Earlier, she participated in many National and State level tournaments and bagged many medals, including five gold, three silver and one bronze medal, in national events.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government would support sports and create facilities for players. Recently, the government announced prize money to Rio Olympics badminton silver medalist P V Sindhu and also participants Srikanth (badminton), Rajani (hockey), he said. Krishna District Skating Association secretary D Durga Prasad, Riya Saboo's father Girish Saboo and others participated.
