Free mess charges for merit students
The Vice-Chancellor said ramps would be built and battery cars would be deployed for the convenience of the physically challenged persons.Regarding Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) scheme, the university officials drafted a detailed report as to how to invest the funds in modern and efficient infrastructure to address the increasing technological and conceptual needs of the students.
Visakhapatnam: Andhra University will exempt mess charges to the meritorious post graduate students, said Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao while talking to the reporters on the executive council meeting details, on the campus on Tuesday. He said the mess charges would be borne by the university.

The university will get Rs 5 crore in the first phase. Drinking water facilities will be created in all the departments spending Rs 2 crore. He said the university received seven proposals for endowment lectures and models and the senate members approved them.
It was also decided to install a bronze statue of S R Ranganathan on the university library premises. The students, who received medals in the inter-university sports and games competitions, would get 10 per cent grace marks in the examinations.
Principal secretary Sumita Bawra, collegiate education commissioner B Udayalakshmi, rector Prof E A Narayana, members Prof G Sasibhusan, Arts College principal Prof K Gayatri, Prof M Prasada Rao, Prof Suresh Chittineni, Prof Paluri Somanadha Rao, Prof N Babayya, registrar Prof V Umamaheswara Rao and finance officer N Hanumantha Rao were present.
