Vijayawada: All Pensioners and Retired Persons Association (APRPA) staged a dharna in front of the Pandit Nehru Bus Station on Tuesday demanding the RTC authorities to resolve the problems being faced by APSRTC retired employees.

About 100 retired RTC employees attended the dharna demanding that the RTC implement the revised wages to those retired in April 2013.APRPA district secretary N A Sastri said that the management gave assurance that total arrears would be paid on Vijayadashami festival by 2015, but failed to fulfil the promise.

He said gratuity, earned leaves difference amount also not paid to the retired staff as per the assurance given by the management. Association president T Prabhu Dass said that the RTC management has revised employees wages, salaries, but ignored the problems of the retired employees.

After staging a dharna, the associations leaders submitted a representation to the RTC officials requesting the latter to resolve their problems. RTC workers union state secretary K Gangadhar and others participated in the dharna.
