They have also told the delegation about the metro rail project proposed for the capital, besides giving a detailed report on the existing road network and the proposed road network. 

Vijayawada: The officials of Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) met the representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), here on Thursday to discuss about the transportation systems in the new capital-Amaravati. The JICA delegation would be on a three-day tour in the capital villages to study the transportation.

The CRDA officials briefed the JICA delegation of the possibilities of the road, rail and waterways in the capital city. They have also told the delegation about the metro rail project proposed for the capital, besides giving a detailed report on the existing road network and the proposed road network.

The CRDA wanted the JICA delegation to study the capital transportation, including major road network plan, intelligent transport plan, passenger and freight terminal, traffic management plan, and financial plan.

The CRDA officials also want the JICA to give a detailed plan for the capital with future projections till 2050. The officials asked for the plan for every five years projecting the traffic growth, expansion of the city and linking the capital city with the capital region.The JICA delegation includes senior advisor transport and infrastructure Kawahara Shuntaro, acting director Sanada Akiko and Hiroshi Yoshida.
